Avstratios The Martyr

At the start of the fourth century, Decollation raised the persecution. Leesia the governor of North Armenia arrested a Christian. He tortured him violently in order to dissuade him from the faith. A man from a wealthy family named Eustratius or Avstratios who witnessed one of the soldiers’ steadfastness in faith and love amid tribulations. He also accepted the Christian faith, and was named Oorsreis. Both were taken to Ogreculaus the governor of Sebastia. He vainly tried to dissuade him from the faith. So he threw the first in a furnace and the second was tied to iron sheets, stoked the fire beneath it, until they delivered their souls to the hands of the Savior. Leesia arrested a group of Christians, including. Avksntios, Ofjanius and Mrdharyos, and gave them to be tortured till they delivered their souls.
